Lent 2021
Holy Week Liturgies
While all remains to be finalised for each of our parishes, depending on availability of Stewards/Cleaners/Volunteers for roles within our services, we will endeavour to provide the best, feasible celebrations in accordance with the National Bishops' & Diocesan Directives as outlined in the "Vade Mecum" instructions, all adapted to our local circumstances.
At present we provisionally suggest:
- HOLY [Maundy] THURSDAY: Mass of The Lord's Supper in St. Agnes' only at 7.00pm.
- GOOD FRIDAY: Service of The Passion of The Lord at 3.00pm in all our three parishes.
- EASTER VIGIL SERVICE & MASS: only in St. Joseph's (St. Barnabas', Rowlands Gill) at 5.30pm.
- EASTER SUNDAY: Mass of the Resurrection in St. Agnes' 9.15am and Our Lady of Lourdes: 11.00am.
All of these services will be adapted somewhat. All will need to be pre-booked for attendance [details to follow]. All may be changed in coming weeks, depending on response for all the helpers needed. Please keep updated for any last minute changes to arrangements.
Resources for the Season of Lent
With the changing COVID-19 landscape, the temptation may be not to plan too far ahead. But we know that we will eventually emerge from lockdown and we need to start looking at the rebuilding of our Parish Communities and beyond. The Vicariate for Faith & Mission is busy putting together resources for Lent with the help of volunteers. These will include Daily Reflections booklets written by gifted writers from across the diocese, and Daily Reflective videos expertly produced by YMT.
