Partnership Advent Service
Fr. Adrian Tuckwell celebrated our Partnership Advent Service at St. Anne’s, Winlaton with parishioners and clergy from across the Ovingham Partnership joining in the prayers, readings, reflection and hymns. The theme of the service was “As Jesus accompanies us so we are called to accompany others” – a reflection on the words of Pope Francis. As we too reflect on the First Sunday of Advent to “wait for the Lord whose day is near” we remember all people and especially those who are successful, disadvantaged, the poor, the elderly, expectant mothers, young mothers and refugees.
We listened to the poem “Refugees” by Brian Bilston:
Afterwards, parishioners were welcomed and invited to look around St. Anne’s church, followed by refreshments in the parish hall.
